The Minister of Territorial Administration,ATANGA NJI Paul , this Wednesday 13th of December 2023 at the conference hall of the Governor’s office in Bamenda,north west region , presided over a security meeting to evaluate the socio-political and economic situation of the region amidst sporadic gun attacks recorded. It’s worth mentioning that, the population of the North West region have denounced terrorist activities. The Minister came with a message of encouragement from the Head of State, President Paul Biya to the forces of law and order, security forces, administrative authorities, the judiciary and the population of North West region as a whole for their resilience against terrorist activities. He equally reiterated that, they should continue to be vigilant in order to promote peace in the region. In addition, the Minister appreciated the collaboration between the population and the forces of law and order which has helped to curb the spread of terrorist propaganda, misinformation, lies and fake news on social media. Furthermore Minister ATANGA NJI Paul calls on the terrorist’s fighters to drop their weapons and join the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Centers (DDR) wherein they can be reintegrate into the society. He stated that about some 1,800 exfighters have joined the DDR center in the North West Region while about 1,700 have done same in South West Region.

Lastly MINAT has called on bike riders to help fight terrorism and to avoid any form of collaboration between them before January 2024.
